Another blogging mama, Ginny, over at small things has suggested a Yarn Along. What a charming idea! Knitting, books, friends, sharing... yes, please! I think I'll join!
I LOVE this book! It's nominated for the Canada Reads competition this year. It's a wonderful, wonderful read. The story revolves around a midwife in rural Nova Scotia during WWI. It's the first of Ami McKay's books and I sure do hope there will be more. Her writing is so tender, so honest and marvelously subtle. The characters of this story are painted so carefully that they dance all around me constantly and I can't wait to steal a few moments to find out a little bit more and a little bit more. This has become my gift of choice for all the mamas in my life. Gorgeous!
I also LOVE this yarn. It's Manos del Uruguay and so, so soft! A dream to work with. The project, I'm not quite ready to share yet... but soon! However, I did make this one out of Manos wool and there's a touque coming with the leftovers from Ned's cardi.
Happy Knitting!
Hello! Dropped by from Ginny's, and I have to say I love your space here! This book is also one of my all time favourites, and is especially close to my heart because the author is a fellow Canadian! Your yarn is gorgeous too! Hope you are having a lovely week!
